Care and Circularity
Sustainability is at the heart of Kowtow. For us, it begins with using organic, natural and regenerated fibres, which we manufacture within a fair trade and ethical supply chain. We design with the entire lifecycle of our garments in mind, and are working on closing the loop to attain full circularity. We strongly believe we are responsible for what we produce and that it doesn't end up as waste.
Here's how we can work together to make a difference.
Repair ProgramConsider repair before replacing your garment. For minor damages, we offer complimentary repairs. For larger rips, we offer the Japanese patching technique Sashiko. This is about valuing and extending the life of the garment through not only strengthening it, but taking the time to make it beautiful as well. This service is bespoke for a small fee. Bring your beloved Kowtow garment into our Wellington or Newmarket store for an assessment. If you are an online customer, please email us for repair advice at email@example.com.
This service applies to Kowtow garments only and excludes tailoring and alterations. Garments must be clean and are subject to evaluation prior to accepting repair. We cannot repair rips, fabric flaws, pills or marked garments. Repairs are done by hand and may require up to 14 working days for completion.
CareAs we use natural fibres, airing clothes outside is often enough to restore freshness. Think twice before washing, but when required we recommend using environmentally friendly detergents, cold water temperatures and line dry. Reducing your energy use is the simplest way to contribute.
